Vertigo is not fun.

It sounds sophisticated, though, doesn't it?  But alas, unplanned vertigo is not fun.  But the medicine they give you to fix it????  Lets just say it- I like it.  I do.

I'm hoping I have to be on it for awhile even though several things are suffering.

1. My typing.  Not good on a normal day, even more skittish these days.  For instance, I am going backwards in my typing to delete just as much as I am going forward.  Another for instance- the letter 'u' added to sophisticated makes it soup-histicated.  Better or worse? You decide.  And if you leave out the p in hoping- makes the word mean something entirely different than I intended.  REALLY- this typing bit is hard!

2.  Decision making.  Not that I care if I actually make a decision- I don't.  For instance it confuses my husband when I answer him like this.  "maybe."  "what do you mean?  Do you want to or not?"  "Maybe," I say. "Maybe I do, maybe I don't, I'm not sure.....but whatever, you decide- I'm ok with it, really, I'm ok"  He took that as a yes, I know, you're surprised.

3.  Decision making.  I just had to leave you there for a minute to clean up dog urp.  Who gave her fried chicken anyways?  Everyone knows dogs can't digest that deep fried goodness.  Oh that's right- I did.  But it was good- I just thought she'd like a little.

4.  Judgement.  I know, it sounds a little like decision making.  But this is something I am thinking of doing, I haven't done it yet so if I am totally off the planet here just tell me.

We have a huge patch of lawn that has been consumed by dandelions.  The ratio of dandelions to blades of grass is overwhelming.  As quickly as husband mows down a bunch of those white-seed-filled orbs a whole new crop appears- with in hours.  I have an idea.

I think I am going to go out there with my little hand held vacuum and suck up all the puffy seed blossom things.  What do you think?  I realize that I'll have to do it more than once.  My thought process is that I am creating a broken link in the chain of reproduction.  Right?  Like if all the rabbits are re-populating but unbeknownst to them the girl rabbits had some birth control pills mixed in with their pellets and a few rounds of baby rabbits never came to be- think how the rabbit population would change.  So- do you think the vacuuming could work?  Do you?

  1. BTW- supposedly its pressure in the ear canals caused by mere allergies. Unless, of course its the pre courser to something much worse and they just don't want to tell me because its that bad....

  2. You are so very funny...and I must tell you...I'm happy to have stopped in here tonight! Humour girl, you've got it!

I think pulling out the hand held vacuum would be much like vacuuming a dog to stop the daily shedding! And yes, I've done that....she liked it!

I say go for it woman! What have you got to lose afterall?
But maybe you should do it under the cloak of darkness so the neighbours won't think your.....what's the word.....oh yes, "unusual". Hehee...

Thanks for stopping in to see me...and for leaving your sweet comment!

    Ciao Bella!

  3. First off, I think the meds have convinced you that anything is possible. It's not. Although the thought of you out there Dust Busting up dandelion fuzz reminds me of the scene in Horton Hears a Who where Horton loses the speck and has to look through the whole field to find it. In other words, only in movies does that work.

Vertigo? I'm convinced I have a splash of that. Sometimes I get so motion sick and Dramamine never helps. I cannot even ride in the back seat of most any car because it makes me horribly ill. Add hills and winding roads to that, and I am a goner. It feels like a bad hangover. I've suspected vertigo, but have no proof. However, if drugs are involved, maybe I'll try to get it diagnosed...

  4. Mel- and anyone else plagued by good old fashioned motion sickness-
Dramamine is useless. Meclazine (Bonine in its over the counter form) works wonders. There's a trick to it. You have to take it at least one hour before you leave. That's before you get in the car. It works better if you take it hours before. When I know I have to get in a car as a passenger I take it the night before. Meclazine is what the doc prescribed along with an anti- naseau that I have never taken before and I suspect it is the fun one of the two:). I do, I do!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my keys. As for the collection of pens you have, I'd put them in a big ornate frame to showcase them.

  11. Just so you know, folks, every time- until I stopped taking those meds- every time I walked by those dandelions I had a strong compulsion to run inside and grab the vacuum...I'm not kidding, the only thing stopping me was the thought of having to buy another portable vacuum.

A Little Summer Fun Followed By A Little Summer Anxiety!

Yep.  Got a  little goin' on... First off-  Anything to keep these two busy!    Very first overnight camp- thought I'd be really anxious.  Turns out- not so much! A few family reunions   with a few too many pictures taken.... A little surf and sand and a husband who says "Back up...I'll get the bay in the background."   Hmmm ... looks like we're in the background and those flip flops are are pretty much the focal point of this picture.  No wonder I'm always behind the lens! Did I mention- ANYTHING TO KEEP THESE TWO BUSY???? There's been some art.... And then there's this lady.  This is the final on her face- because if I don't get this done.... Their gonna lock me away in the funny house! Oh yeah, because I just don't have enough going on.... Remember this?  The birdcage never quite made it on this lady's head but.....I did not throw it out.  Actually I lost it and finally found it under the treadmill when I

Paper Mache` vs. Creative Paper Clay vs. Paper Clay Recipe!

For those of you who work in figurative sculpture, or are art doll makers, or just like to putz around in an artsy way this post is for you. If you don't fit into the categories above this post may just be a yawn. Sorry. The following is a comparison of my experiences using three different products. Paper mache`, Creative Paper Clay, and paper clay recipe. This picture is a good example of how I like to mix up my mediums. The round flower is Creative Paper Clay. The 3-petal blossom is made from the paper clay recipe found on line. Both of these flowers adhered quite well with out any glue to the paper mache` background. In my Cloth and Clay group I have a discussion going about a paper clay recipe vs. purchasing the manufactured paper clay. I wanted an alternative to the little bricks and my dependency on whether or not my local hobby stores would have it in stock or not. And, truthfully, at the time with a rather large sculpture in mind I knew I would eat through those

Craft Tutorial Alert!

Well, its the end of the school year.  Time to thank the two ladies that influenced my children in a great direction!  I didn't want to donate to the gift card.  Why?  Because I'm not a joiner?  Because I want to stand out rather than share the spotlight?  Because I want a personalized gift that they can keep and always remember?  Because I want to impress upon them that I can't participate as a classroom volunteer because (loud children scare me) I've been so busy working and being creative?  Because I want to do both gifts for very little money but not look cheap?  Bingo. I saw an ornament made from a puzzle piece in a magazine and it stuck with me.  'I should do something like that' I always think.  Then the idea came to me and unfortunately would not leave me- like ringworm.  I would make a mobile. I found the very largest puzzle I could find at my local store.  Turns out the fewer the pieces- the larger they tend to be.  This 4.00 puzzle had
